Sahi .. Looks good

Came across the Sahi automated testing tool web page: http://www.sahi.co.in/

It is released under Apache 2.0 license which is good.. downloaded it however I was behind a proxy and was testing https website .. i got past the $toolkit error by adding toolkit to the path .. but I could not stand the proxy changes that I had to make every 10 minutes .. need to get out of proxy environment to evalute this one.

Good thing about sahi .... it used javascript :) which I liked,
I have not used any further.

I would try to evalute it on this week end.

PAMIE

Downloaded pamie and installed, however could not get it running ... got some exceptions in ie.scriptWrite(). I have left it there for now. I would check this on some weekend may be.
The product that I work on has all dhtml ... I am not able to view source... directly.

What I need to do is access Dom and print out doc.innerhtml to know the components. Not what I would like to do as it is very laborious.

Will check that out though to evaluate PAMIE

Mercury SAFFRON

First read about this @ this link...

http://www.softwareinquisition.com/2006/10/mercury-give-us-saffron

SAFFRON looks good, however there are so many aspects that are still loose.

My last effort on developing a framework to work with Winrunner taught me a lot of things, one of them was .. handling the recovery / exceptions what ever you call it... is really tough as you do more generic stuff...., configuring exceptions in testcases with an elegant way is tricky.

If time permits ... I am planning to work on QTP lets see :)

I have my fingers crossed !!!
